2009 Elburn Days Parade Theme Announced

The theme for the 2009 Elburn Days Parade will be "Celebrating 80 Years of Service 80's Style". The Elburn Lions Club was chartered on September 14, 1929. Today, the Elburn Lions Club has over 200 members and operates a large 25 acre park in the heart of the Village of Elburn.

Elburn Days Parade Applications Now Available

The 2009 Elburn Days Parade applications are now available by downloading this form. Applications must be received by July 30th to be considered. There are a reduced number of units permitted from previous years and some restrictions on repetitive units. Apply early to be considered. There are no guarantees that because a unit was in the parade a previous year that it will be automatically be permitted in this year's parade.

2009 Elburn Days Parade Date Announced

The 80th Annual Elburn Days Parade will be step off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009 from the intersection of Gates and Shannon Streets in the northwest quadrant of Elburn.

The entire northwest quadrant is used for staging of this huge parade, so when we announce the unit numbers the week before the parade, make sure to tell everyone in your group your unit number and where to meet. The side streets are shut down as much as 20-40 minutes before the parade, so if you're planning to drive someone into the area, don't plan on waiting until the last minute to arrive.

Elburn Days 2009 runs from Friday, August 21, 2009 to Sunday, August 23, 2009. More information will be released on this web site as we get closer to this great community event.
